I expect that you are requiring Hydrated Lime, not Hydraulic Lime, ask at any building supply, or Farm supplier.
Its also known as quick lime. Used in NZ to stabilise highways, as it reacts well with clay, I believe that Romans used it on structures that still stand today.

There is no hydraulic lime made in NZ. It was made in the late 19th and early 20th century but no longer so the nearest thing we have to that is Portland cement made in Whangarei.

Hi Akiko, How is the project going? I have worked on a few earthship biotecture builds in New Mexico. I live here now and would like to co-create/co-invest in an earth building home. I am in the process of building our second straw bale house, but the new council need straw bale building specifications. Does anyone know if this piece of bureaucracy exists?
